The defendant (and his partner Peter Wilson - who was also the subject of prosecution action) were contracted to demolish an asbestos cement clad house in Carlisle. Their workers were not wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment when the asbestos cement cladding was being removed. During the removal process asbestos cement sheets were broken into pieces and left scattered around on site. The site was not fenced and there was no signage indicating removal of asbestos cement sheeting was in progress. The defendant pleaded guilty.
