Being an employer, failed so far as was practicable to provide and maintain a working environment in which its employees were not exposed to hazards and in particular failed to provide and maintain a system of work such that, so far as was practicable, its employees were not exposed to a hazard.

Two employees of the defendant were exposed to a fall hazard of 4.9 metres whilst removing and replacing colorbond roof sheets on the house, as shown in the photograph.

The defendant failed to provide perimeter scaffolding, edge protection or fall arrest harnesses and appropriate anchor points.

His Worship Mr Black SM presided over the case.

The defendant did not enter a plea. The penalty was imposed under section 19(6).
