Background Details

On 18 February 2000, a steel structure under construction collapsed. The building under construction was the Rockingham Justice Complex. There were 4 employees in the immediate vicinity (either under or near or in the vincity of the steel structure) at the time of the collapse.

The defendant should have ensured appropriate lateral support to the steel structure was in place at the southern end of the building under construction.

The defendant pleaded not guilty. The penalty was imposed under section 19(6).
