The defendant acted as an advisor and labourer on the demolition of a building in Albany and had removed the roof of the building when an inspector investigated. The defendant stopped undertaking the demolition work when the investigating inspector advised by telephone that he required a licence to undertake the work. When interviewed, the defendant admitted that he had applied to WorkSafe for an exemption to undertake the demolition work at this site, but at the date of the offence the WorkSafe Western Australia Commissioner had not made a final decision. The defendant pleaded guilty. |
