Background Details |
The defendant was a self employed roof plumber who was engaged by another company as a subcontractor. The work included removing and replacing existing guttering and down pipes from a three storey block of flats. When removing the existing guttering the defendant and another roofing plumber threw the lengths of guttering from the roof to the ground below (approximately 8 metres), to an area adjacent to a playground area in the flat complex. There was no bunting to keep people out of the area where the guttering was thrown and there was no spotter on the ground. The defendant pleaded guilty. |
