Being a person who had control of a workplace where persons who were not his employees worked, failed to take such measures as were practicable to ensure that the workplace was such that persons who were at the workplace wer not exposed to hazards.
The defendant operated a building company.
On 3 October 1999 a WorkSafe Inspector inspected a construction site in Claremont and observed persons working on a roof, approximately six metres above the ground with no edge/fall protection, scaffold or harnesses in use at the site. The workers at the site were at risk of falls from height.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
