Being an employer, failed to ensure that employees at the workplace were, as far as practicable, provided with cooling to enable them to work in a comfortable environment.
Some employees at Prime Laundry and Drycleaners were working in hot and humid conditions. Directions were given to cool the inlet air and reduce the humidity of the air to enable employees to work in a comfortable environment. One temperature reading was 32 degrees C indoors compared with the outside temperature of 26 degrees. A second reading was 34 degrees C inside compared with 27.6 degrees outdoors.
A guilty plea was entered.
